What Are You Most Passionate About?
I’m passionate about helping and inspiring others, about helping people to see their worth. No matter what people tell you, how they treat you, or try to make you feel, you’re important and you matter.
Who Is Your Hero? Why?
Since I was a child, I looked up to women who broke the status quo. Those who fought to be accepted as equals. As a sheltered child, I only got to see the likes of Super Woman or the Charlie’s Angels, but as I got older I began to see the world outside of fiction. Heroes who were women of color. I began to follow and admire Malcolm X and marveled at what he became after his early life trauma. Staying strong and positive as you’re hated is not easy and for that he is one of my heroes.
What Is Your Favorite Sound?
My favorite sound is of the ocean on the beach, and the rippling sound the ocean makes as it passes over the rocks between the sand and the water.
What Project Would A Laptop Help You With?
My project, or rather my goal is to finish school and begin to work in the criminal justice field; preferably in a non-profit capacity. I want to serve people who suffer draconian sentences for low level crimes, and innocents who are rushed through a broken system for a quick conviction.
How Would A Laptop Help You?
Having a laptop would be instrumental in finishing my college education. I’ve sacrificed many mornings traveling to the school library to do research. Money is tight as it is, so often times I have to walk to the library. In addition this extra time taken detracts from my urgent job search. If I’m selected, not only will I be able to complete my law degree, but I would be able to start pursuing a career in the non profit sector.
