What Are You Most Passionate About?
Raising awareness about the issues women face here in Jawaja. I have been selected as a field center coordinator, so I have responsibilities towards the other people in my community. This is a role I enjoy as it is where I can have the most impact.
Who Is Your Hero? Why?
Mahatma Gandhi. Thanks to him we have India as it is today, and he always fought for the poor. On a more personal level, his belief in a simple life appeals to me. I try to live following these guidelines.
What Is Your Favorite Sound?
My favorite sound is the sound of hot chai being sipped at the end of a long day of work. It is in those moments that I enjoy my work and the community spirit the most.
What Project Would A Laptop Help You With?
In our field center we focus on educating women about their rights and how they can fight for them. We help them with issues with the government, families, and their husbands. We also work as health advisors for all of our clients.
How Would A Laptop Help You?
A laptop would help me in my work as a coordinator. I am currently processing everything by hand in notebooks, but with a computer my efficiency would increase ten fold. I have to do a lot of communication with partners and the government, so I have to go to the nearest city to use a computer there. It would be easier if I could do this work form the field center.
What do you love about this project?
I love this project and I fight every day to make it happen because it will help other women from facing some issues I had to face. Another thing I love in my work is when I get to see some families again after some time and seeing improvements in their health and well being.
