What Are You Most Passionate About?
Helping individuals rebuild their lives. There are a variety of circumstances that lead one down a dark path and my passion to help those in need led me to this country.
Who Is Your Hero? Why?
Martin Luther King Jr. I admire his commitment to the needs of others. He deprived himself of a normal life and sacrificed a lot to fight for the rights of others. He couldn’t sit by and continue to watch as others suffered. I admire his courage and his faith in God to meet the needs of the oppressed. He is my all time hero!
What Is Your Favorite Sound?
Silence is my favorite sound only because in silence I can gather my thoughts and reflect on important issues that need to be addressed.
What Project Would A Laptop Help You With?
My project is called Rebuilding Lives. It is a non profit organization I am starting that assists homeless inmates to rebuild their lives. I plan to offer a wealth of services to increase their chances of successfully reintegrating into society through a step-by-step program involving education, employment, and therapy. A laptop would assist with the research and development of my project. I’m unable to research during my spare time due to my work schedule and library hours. Currently, I work in a men’s shelter from 4pm to midnight, so the time I have available to go to the library is very limited.
What do you love about this project?
The gratifying feeling that comes from making a difference in the lives of people that society has largely abandoned. We all fall short in one way on another. Some of us make horrible decisions based on a temporary hardship, that we end up paying for the rest of our lives.
