What Are You Most Passionate About?

I am most passionate about my bike-messenger start-up because it addresses many issues that I am interested in. It provides employment to youth and supports small businesses to grow and further generate jobs. The company aims to set an example on providing eco-friendly services.

Who Is Your Hero? Why?

My hero is Mahabir Pun, who returned to his community to support them by connecting them to wireless Internet. He realized that Internet was a powerful medium for educational and economic growth. He started small and slowly gained support for his work.

What Is Your Favorite Sound?

Wind blowing when I’m riding my bike. The sound of the wind makes me feel free.

What Project Would A Laptop Help You With?

A laptop would be extremely helpful for my start-up company, KTM Couriers, a bicycle delivery service. We specialize in pickup and delivery of documents, letters, packages and clothes, as well as errand services such as bill pay and cash deposit. Along with providing a green delivery service, we also employ Nepali youth with limited opportunities. We strongly believe in generating employment in the country. We have employed youth from disadvantaged communities, high-school dropouts and former drug addicts.

How Would A Laptop Help You?

Our operations officer manually maintains a record of daily delivery orders, each client’s deliveries, each runner’s deliveries and time sheet. With a laptop, we can double the speed of our operations.

What do you love about this project?

I love working with Nepali youth who are enthusiastic to learn and not afraid of failing and trying again.

What Languages do you speak?

Nepali, Nepal Bhasa(Newari), English, Hindi.

Given a choice, would you prefer a Mac or PC?

Either.
