What Are You Most Passionate About?

My work helping women at the Haushala Cooperative. I am always really happy and satisfied after a day on the job.

Who Is Your Hero? Why?

Haushala, the founder of our cooperative, is my hero because she appreciates my work and always motivates me to grow.

What Is Your Favorite Sound?

I love the sound of a flute.

What Project Would A Laptop Help You With?

I am one of the leaders of the Haushala Women’s Cooperative. We train women from challenging backgrounds in knitting and sewing to build financial independence. We sell these items in Nepal, and in the US. The profits support the women and also education for underprivileged children. I manage the bookkeeping and records for our cooperative, including the inventory, sales, and payments.

How Would A Laptop Help You?

Right now I can only keep our records in handwritten files so the papers can tear or get misplaced. If I had a laptop, I could save all of the records safely, share them easily with others, and have them backed up online. This will also help our cooperative find designs, grow through social media, and thus create more financial opportunities.

What do you love about this project?

As an individual I really want to make the best of my surroundings and any current situation. I love that this project helps upgrade my life, and the lives of other women coming from challenging backgrounds.

What Languages do you speak?

Nepali and Tamang.

Given a choice, would you prefer a Mac or PC?

Either
