What Project Would A Laptop Help You With?

I started a fabric-dying business to empower the women in my city.

Short Description Of Project

Fabrics are a part of daily life and dress in Guinea, used for cooking, cleaning, and traditional as well as formal dress for both men and women. For high quality fabric people will travel as far as Bamako, Mali to find it. I saw there was a need for good quality fabric production in my city, Kindia, and opened up a business dying fabric in 2007.

Seeing the situation of women in my country I have long wanted to help improve their quality of life. I saw my business as a good opportunity for this, employing a group of women and providing them with a wage so that they may be empowered, more financially independent, and able to help their families. When opening my business I brought in a specialist to train women in dying fabric. To this day I have trained more than 50 women, providing them with a valuable work skill.

How Would A Laptop Help You?

A computer would greatly help out activities in keeping track of our stock and production. A computer would greatly help with keeping track of accounting, as well as keeping track of basic records such as employees trained. I would like to make use of a computer better run my business and also expand, so that I may employ more women in the future in this and other businesses.
